LicensingIn April 2008, the Cayman Islands Government granted the Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (CUC) a non-exclusive Electricity Generation Licence and an exclusive Electricity Transmission and Distribution Licence for Grand Cayman. The terms and conditions of each CUC Licence were negotiated in good faith and on behalf of consumers by ERA staff, consultants and Government representatives. The ERA strives for terms and conditions within each Licence that provide safe and reliable electricity service to consumers at the lowest achievable price.
The Cayman Brac Power and Light Company Limited (CBP&L) Licence for Cayman Brac and Little Cayman was negotied by the Cayman Islands Government in 2003. The CBP&L Licence has a term of 15 years. |
